Buggy form

This term we have been learing about Invetions and Inverntors so we split up in groups of three or two in my group there was Samara, Carys and I. We made questioners about Buggies and asked the parents if they would like to fill it in.

We found out that most parents preferd the comfortable seat. We are going to design a buggy with the infomation that we collected.

Her is some infomation

• 50% of mums would like a comfortable seat .
• 50% of mums wanted the coulor red
• 100% of mums would like a potable buggy
• 83% of mums like a comfortable seat and rubber whelles
• 50% of mums would like their baby to see the world
• 67% of mums go to stores to buy a buggy

Pangram

A pangram is a sentence including all the letters of the alphabet, we only had 10 minutes to do it and we were also in groups of three.

The local bully told me that tomorrow was pet day but no I thought something was wrong I arrived at school and no one else was holding cages or anything I was the only one holding a cage with my rabbit named buttons  and yes every one was staring at me oh no it is not pet day. Maths challenge

Maths challenge.

Today we have been doing a maths challenge in room2 and we had a group of five or four
They were Tamara, Jaylen, Junseo, Isabella and Me

Today as part of the maths week we did maths challenges, our group had five people it was really fun and exiting but it was really important the we worked in a TEAM

Three activites we did were working out a maze's, code breakers and naming shapes

The most diffucult challenge we did was making up tables because everyone in our group had diffrent answers to the questions

Monday

Today Samara and I started on the skirt. We just spent the first block folding newspaper and Samara started creating the bow to stick on the newspaper. 

The most challenging part was hot gluing the folded newspaper to the ribbon when all the wind blew past and would blow away the newspaper

We found out that it would look better if we had one sleeve over the shoulder and cover it with newspaper

At the moment our dress did not have fire on it. (Our element is fire).

Tuesday

Today we have finished the bottom part of the dress and glued the skirt on to the underneath which is the base of our dress.

Now I am cutting the yellow streamers red ribbon and white ribbon into strips and gluing them on the newspaper skirt while Samara made a bow out of squishy pompoms then glued it on to a head band.

After that we both made the top part of the dress with newspaper and layered it with one sleeve. 

I found difficult it when the wind kept blowing  the newspaper around.

Wednesday

Today we folded orange cellophane and stuffed it up the layered newspaper so it looked like fire then glued flowers on. Next we made Doylies into a circle shape and Christine spray painted the doylies fire colors   then hot glued them around the waist. 

Then we put the dress all together it looked AMAZING!!!!!!! What a relief!!!!!

The lactic turkey sustainability challenge.                                                                                                  
                                                                                                                                                                     The lactic  turkey is a sustainability challenge, when you are in a group and you have a parent help that runs with you to the activites. There were activites like gardening, finding fish and other activites and questions in the bag where we answered the questions and added up our points there where zombie chews witch are lollies that we got to eat at lunch. In our group we had Samara, Isabella me and tracey who is samaras mum.a

In room to we have been learning about capacity witch also means mass of measurment.
I found out that its also not just about measurment and hight  its also about width aswell.
I found tricky that when we had to pour the water in the cup because it will just spill.

Journal entry

18/06/14: today I had a writing i-Kan  test. There was three topics to choose I chose every cloud has a silver line it means that when something bad happens a good thing always goes with it.
I found difficult the time because I kept checking the time to see how much more time I have.

Sophies goals for 2014

In reading I am learning to work on my understanding of words and to answer tricky questions.

In maths I am learning to multipilcation and divison facts to solve hard questions improper fractions.

In writing I am learning to use juicy languge and edit my work.

Tread lightly

                                     Tread lightly caravan 

This week my learning has been interesting and I learnt new things

 

I found out that when you recycle something it can be turned into something useful 

I wondered if we could learn more about reducing reusing and recycling 

The most difficult part of the tread lightly was the electric bike to make the jug boil 

Now I know that  we can recycle stuff that we don't need

My next steps are to check now and then that when we don't need our lights on turn the off it wastes power

I enjoyed learning about what  is inside a phone like gold copper and lots more 

The fun part was turning on  the lights by using the electric bike

Why does fizzy drink exploded when I shake it

You will need a fizzy drink and a open space

Step 1. Get everyone to stand back and form a circle aroud you.
Step 2. Shake the fizzy drink firmly and place it in the middle of the circle.
Step 3. then open the lid quickly.
Step 4. STAND BACK!!!!

The fizzy drink explodes when I shake it because the carbin dioxide is all at the bottom then when you shake it the carbon dioxide puches against the lid and pops out.

AFL stands for Australian Football Leauge


We learnt how to: drop punt, speki mark and many more. I enjoyed playing a full game because I keeped getting the ball and passing to people then they would get the ball in the goal!. I did not enjoy learning the drop punt because when I kicked the ball it went a diffrent way where it wasent ment to go.

bird lady

Bird lady
Last week on the 8th  of April the bird lady came only to room 2, I was so exited because I heard that she was bringing in a couple of her birds. She brought  in her blue penguin, more pork,cook petrol and a long-tail  koco. I loved seeing the blue penguin and the morepork, the morpork had big eyes.


The bird lady told us about  parapara trees paparapara trees are a tree the catches birds when a bird lands on the parapara tree the birds feathers get stuck togerther.

My name is Sophie and this is my beautiful blog. I am a year 6 girl and I am turning 10 next month I have one sister called Aimee and a bunny called buttons also a cat called Simba. Simba only has on eye but we take lots of care of her.

I enjoy playing netball,waterpolo, eating and playing with my BFF Samara and brooke. My friends are Samara, Brooke, Elly, Ashley, Ashley Y and Carys.
